After an overwhelming sense of self-worth at gaining an IMDB page for a short film and myself for my exploits on said film i realize that nobody will care and why should they I'm about as interesting as hemorrhoid cream left in an unattended deck chair

What i imagined life was like when you have an IMDB page

But i would like to think that the film Beautiful War speaks for itself, what started off as a test to see how you use the almost dead film format of Super 8mm turned into a film; i say film but this is more of a video-graphic question than a standard "film". 


Rather than attempt to write a misguided synopsis for it in my own words i feel that true man of the hour and my partner in Film-making crime Scott Lyus sums it up better than i ever could:


"A short that outlines the thin line between the natural beauty that is all around us, against the destruction of this beauty through war and misguided and misused works of power. Beautiful War uses contrast as its tool to ask questions and underline serious problems that our world leaders need to address. We are given so much to admire for free, why do we choose to destroy it?

An idea born out of the music of yesterday and visions of our future. Production on this picture took over a year, in that time we were shooting every few months, finding the money to buy and develop the film and then more money for the stock footage and song used once in post. Being the first time I had used the Super 8mm Format we ran into some challenges early on, first being our first camera giving up on us, then over exposed film, under exposed film and a lot of poeple wondering what the hell I was trying to achieve. Now a year later and the film is ready to be screened. It should be said that Beautiful War was never meant to be a film that provided anwsers, instead I wanted to make a film that just asked the questions I felt needed to be asked."

although a far cry from what we both imagined when we said "we wanna make films" in our guised Essex accents at our disgruntled parents this seems to be just the project that has got the ball rolling which may lead on to bigger and better things.

It should be noted as-well that we did not pay for these pages to be set up but rather it was an honor bestowed upon us by getting it selected for some festivals and for that we thank them. I would not expect us to make anything like this in the near future but it may have given us the tools we need to make films in the future along a more linear, dramatic and traditional film like sense so keep your eyes and ears peeled

Really good flick, got some pretty heated reviews for its pretension and overall existential theme back in 2004 but I'm backing it 


with a cast including Naomi Watts, Jason Schwartzman and Marky Mark what's not to like?

For all my sins i am an Arsenal FC supporter if you are not aware of their existence then you are most likely too cool for football or are North American and call it soccer which is wrong on many  many levels, but alas it has come to my recent attention that their overall failure to close out games they should be more than capable of winning will most likely cost yet another year without a trophy and leave a bitter taste in fans mouths akin to tramps urine

But what really worries me is that this problem is not being addressed by any addition to the squad of big name, big game experience and despite that the big wage bills that come with such players can you really put a price on successes; Man City excluded

And i would expect something to be done as they are one of the very few clubs that are financially viable to go out and buy some kind of ludicrously priced tart capable of winning games or at least some more penalties. every transfer window this wish goes unfulfilled not that I'm unhappy with signings they are certainly not to the level Arsenal could and should be buying and how long would it be without a trophy before fans start a revolt as football these days in its nature is fickle much like the players themselves.

Much has been said about the youth of Arsenal in recent years but how many of them count as "Wenger's kids" anymore? and for those that are how many of them will be given opportunities before they decided to ply their trade elsewhere and probably end up scoring a goal against us in a do or die match causing obscenities to be uttered & water bottles to be thrown.

For all the bad there is a plethora of good at times the football Arsenal play can cause even the most hardened brick-layer to shed a tear, and grinding out results away at the likes of Blackburn & Everton is something that should of started happening earlier and a lot more often but home losses against West Brom, Newcastle and fierce North London rivals and rejuvenated Champions League playing Tottenham can they really mount an all out attack for the title that has eluded us for nigh on 6 years, only time will tell but with a very strong Carling cup campaign a title could be won and for those that say it is the mickey mouse cup I'm sure Manchester UTD and Tottenham fans were not thinking that when they lifted the trophy and rubbed it in the noses of premier league rivals like willy wonka's golden ticket

I hold little hope for the Champions League as the format has gone pretty much the same every year bar that damn parisian final in 2006, ease through group stages, beat team you should be beating and then struggle against a european powerhouse thus ending another season of could of's. but lets not jump the gun start winning things in England and these players will thirst and thrive for more and this team could very much live up to it's hype.

The Henry's and Bergkamp's of this club are long gone (sorry New York) however given confidence and perhaps the occasional stroke of luck can the Walcott's and Wilshere's start reeling in the accolades and give the team a much needed British backbone and start filling the gaps at the Emirates and usher in a new trophy winning Arsenal. Perhaps
